BOTOX Cosmetic in Hawaii

"If you keep making that face, it is going to stay that way permanently."

I remember my mom used to tell us kids that frequently, especially when one of us would make a frustrated face or dare to shoot mom an angry glance. Little did I realize that as I got older, Mom's wisdom would become more fact than fiction.

Every year we grow older, our skin also ages. Our aging skin along with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles are the result of what could be the combination of a multitude of various factors. In addition to the normal changes to our skin cells, the loss of hormones and decreased collagen production, we also experience changes to areas surrounding the face such as the brow/forehead area caused by muscle contractions.

We have all seen the effects that muscle contractions have on the skin. Are you familiar with those vertical lines that appear between your brows? Those are commonly referred to as "11's" and are the result from repeated muscle contractions. every time you concentrate, squint, or frown, the muscles that control your brow movement contract. Over time, this will cause the brow skin to furrow and fold. After years of repeated brow contractions, those 11's can begin to stay prominent, even after your brow muscles are relaxed. Gee, maybe Mom was right after all.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein that temporarily treats the fine lines and wrinkles caused by aging and muscle contractions by blocking nerve signals to the muscles in the treatment area. BOTOX® cosmetic achieves this by "stunning" the muscles, thereby reducing the muscle activity that is causing the prominent lines to form between the brows. A BOTOX treatment session consists of a few injection administered by your plastic surgeon. The procedure only takes a few minutes, and there is no down time.

Artistry and Experience is the Secret to Great Botox!

Although BOTOX® may look easy to administer, it is not this aspect which is most important to the outcome. The clinician's experience and "aesthetic eye" is the key to a great outcome with BOTOX®.

Treatments take 20-30 minutes unless you opt not to have your skin numbed prior to the injections, then the treatment should take less than 10 minutes. Several tiny injections are given in the areas that you and your provider have decided upon. They usually are barely appreciable in sensation or appearance following the injection. You can reapply makeup to the treated areas immediately after the session.

There are no specific after care instructions. If this is the first time you have had Botox injections, you will not notice any change for at least 3 days and the complete effect will take up to 14 days.

Side effects from Botox are very rare, but headaches can occur temporarily after the injection – especially in patients who suffer from frequent headaches. Ironically, Botox injections often help with frequent headache patients once the Botox takes effect. Bruising can occur although very infrequently. If you are prone to bruising or are on blood thinners please notify your caregiver; special techniques and recommendations will be used to try to minimize your bruising risk. If bruising does occur it will not affect your final result and typically is minor enough that makeup coverage will conceal it.

It is always recommended that anyone considering a cosmetic or plastic surgery procedure first consult with a qualified, and experienced cosmetic surgeon. Proper research and pre-procedure planning is an important step in a decision to undergo a cosmetic procedure, and one that should not be taken lightly. Ensure you fully understand the procedure, its risks, and have a realistic expectation of the results.

Research is very important to the process, and should be done prior to having your chosen procedure, no matter how invasive the procedure is. There are many great outlets available for this research,. the best one I have found is lookingyourbest.com- a free-to-use website that offers a large library full of in depth plastic and cosmetic surgery information. This website also offers a free service to help you locate a skilled and experienced specialist in your area.

New Boobs and A New Lease on Life

I recently read a story online about a woman in her late 20's who had dealt with breasts that were "almost non-existent". This woman also had a scalp condition that caused a bit of hair loss and therefore she could never grow long hair. The story described the emotional issues this woman dealt with her entire teenage and young adult life, being mistaken for a male and a general lack of attention from the opposite sex- All of this generated emotional issues such as self esteem problems, embarrassment and a general lack of confidence in herself- I felt bad for this woman. I too know how it is feel "discluded" from normal life and activities, dating etc, as I have dealt with being overweight and also one who never fit in with the media-fueled notions of what is "sexy".

The story then explained how this woman, on a friend's advice had decided to go consult with a plastic surgeon in Honolulu, Hawaii. After talking with the surgeon, and seeing before and after photos, the woman decided to have breast implant surgery with hopes that she could "finally live a normal life, attract a husband and finally be happy".

At the end of the story, this woman had experienced a transformation, not only physically with her breast size, but noted that almost immediately after the initial recovery she felt a "new found sense of self esteem- I felt much better looking into the mirror and seeing my clothing fit like it should- I knew this was going to have a hugely positive impact on my life".

The woman stated" men were finally paying attention to her, and she was no longer embarrassed to hit the beach showing off her new cleavage and liking that fact that "for once all eyes were on me as I strutted down the beach. The breast augmentation surgery has done wonders- I feel more confident in my daily life and feel like I can do anything". Check out her results for yourself....

Plastic Surgery Q&A - Body Contouring Surgery and Rhinoplasty

My Friend Lost a Ton of Weight, Can Body Contouring Surgery Help?

If your Friend has excess hanging skin as a result from massive weight loss, the short answer is yes, Body Contouring surgery can help. The long answer, however is a bit more involved. Your friend should first locate and consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in Body Contouring following massive weight loss. I recommend your friend be sure to have all of his/her questions answered, and have the doctor completely explain the procedure so your friend understands the procedure fully.

Prior to surgery, the surgeons, doctors and medical staff will ensure the patients health is the best it can be as many develop vitamin deficiencies after a weight loss surgery, such as gastric bypass. Your friend needs to make sure and follow the doctor's advice and instructions exactly so as to minimize any potential problems or complications. Conditions such as sleep apnea, Diabetes, Malnutrition and more can have adverse effects on Body Contouring surgery following massive weight loss. Because of these potential complications, the surgeon will then refer the patient to other Medical specialists to assess, treat and then clear the patient of any conditions that can pose any possible threat of complicating the plastic surgery procedures. These specialists may include cardiologists, Internists, Medical Doctors, Pulmonary specialists, and more.

My Nose is an embarrassment - Can a plastic surgeon make my nose look good?

In general, absolutely. Nose Surgery, or Rhinoplasty is one of the most common plastic surgery procedures performed today. In fact forms of Rhinoplasty surgery date back to India 500 B.C. Many advances in technique and safety of the procedure have only helped to further the popularity and the success rate of nose surgeries. Rhinoplasty, or Nose Surgery is most commonly performed to fulfill aesthetic goals, but is also performed to improve nose defects and/or correct breathing problems. This surgery can be performed under general or local anesthesia, which ever suits the surgeon's recommendations and the patients preferences the best.

I advise you to consult with a plastic surgeon that is board certified and experienced in Rhinoplasty surgery. ensure you have all your questions answered, and ask the surgeon to explain the procedure in detail, covering all the steps involved. You can also ask your surgeon to show you before and after photos of successful nose surgery procedures, and make sure you discuss your personal expectations of the results.

As with all surgery procedures, there is some level of risk involved. It is extremely important that one do his/her 'homework" and seek out a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon who specializes in Rhinoplasty procedures. LookingYourBest.com provides a plethora of excellent, accurate information and free services to help you research plastic surgery procedures, and locate a plastic surgeon that is right for your desired procedure(s). Make sure you fully understand the procedure and the risks involved before you go 'under the knife'. Proper research, education and understanding prior to a surgery can literally mean the difference between a successful result and a nightmare.

Restoring a Youthful Look to Your Face - Myth or Reality?

Recently I have begun to take a closer look at my face. As I get older I worry about how my face will age. Even at 38 I already notice the evidence of forthcoming crows feet, wrinkles and drooping. Being an entertainer, my face and my outward appearance are important to me - after all it is my face people see on flyers, posters and magazine ads.

Though I know I do not need invasive surgery to rectify the minor aging, I still felt there was something more I could do to restore the youthful look to my face. I did some research on the Internet and discovered this Skin Care system called Obagi. After searching for more information, I found a plastic surgeon in Hawaii who was able to help me understand how this system works and what I can expect from its use. He Even showed me the proper way to use Obagi.

Long story short, after three weeks of using this skin care system, I noticed my face was brighter, smoother and the fine lines and wrinkles are disappearing. For those of you out there who have a similar situation and need a solution- I strongly recommend you check out Obagi.

Liposuction Has Changed Me for the Better

So after years of fast food and a lack of proper exercise, I decided that it was time for me to actually take care of myself better. I spent hours in the gym every day and made sure I was eating a healthy diet. After a full year I had lost more than 80 pounds and I felt great!

However, I still had some areas of my body I wasn't happy with, love handles and little pouches of fat that just didn't seem to go away with my exercise and diet. After trying everything I could think of, I decided to seek a professional opinion. After some research on the Internet, I discovered a highly skilled and board certified plastic surgeon in Chicago, Illinois. This surgeon helped me to understand that even after weight loss, some ares of the human body will not respond to regular exercise and proper diet. This Doctor also told me that there was a surgery procedure that can get rid of the trouble ares and help to bring back the body I had in high school.

The surgery procedure is called Liposuction, but is also known as a 'suction lipectomy'. It involves the removal of the fat on the pockets or areas that were troubling me like my love handles, and extra fat around my waist. I must say I was a bit skeptical that this surgery procedure could help, after all, more than a years worth of heavy exercise and eating nothing but fruits and vegetables didn't help, why would this surgery?

To cut to the chase, this Liposuction procedure did wonders. After a short period of healing, I was back to my normal daily routine. Now, I am not ashamed at all to remove my shirt at the beach or in the gym. I absolutely love the attention I get from the ladies now. Check out my results for yourself:

I Tried Botox and LOVE the Results

When we are young, we rarely give any thought to how our facial skin and muscles will change, and how we will look. I always thought because I take care of myself with alot of exercise, eating the right foods, etc. and I possessed an advantage with my healthy lifestyle and I always figured I would age gracefully.

I have discovered living a healthy lifestyle does not necessarily guarantee you will not suffer the same issues everyone does as they age. I decided to do something about it and began researching solutions. I had always heard of BOTOX, as it has been a very popular procedure, gaining popularity over the years. I had frequently thought that BOTOX was just for the movie stars and people that made their outward image the #1 priority in life. This is not so, many people from all walks of life have used BOTOX as a way to help their faces keep up with their fit bodies.

So I decided to "take the plunge" and try BOTOX injections for myself. I found an experienced, skilled and certified cosmetic surgeon in Texas, and had my first Botox Teatment. The actual procedure took all of 10 minutes, and I noticed the wrinkles and lines began to fade almost immediately. Within a week, the trouble spots had almost completely faded - another set of injections and they had totally vanished. It has been 2 months and I am ecstatic with the results. You certainly must try BOTOX injections if you want to reduce and treat signs of aging on your face.

    What Is A Tummy Tuck?

Though liposuction alone can help many, others may find a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty to be the right solution. Plastic Surgeons often encounters patients who have dieted, jogged, and done everything possible and still were unable to reduce their abdomen and stomach area. A Surgeon's goal in a tummy tuck procedure is to create a flat, firm stomach and a thinner waist. As with all of his surgical procedures, The Surgeon tailors a tummy tuck to individual needs with a variety of techniques. A "partial" or "mini" tummy tuck can be applied in conjunction with liposculpture.

The tummy tuck procedure tightens the muscles to provide a sleeker, stronger abdominal wall and to make the waist smaller. Loose, lax skin often compromised by stretch marks, is removed. You will be up in a day or two after surgery, but activity may be restricted for three or four weeks while tissues firm and heal.

It remains that with any elective cosmetic surgery, it is very important for women considering this procedure to be given informed consent. This means that anyone considering having permanent implantation of a medical device is made aware not only of the risks of the operation itself, but also of the lifelong risks of having implants.

Liposuction Surgery - an Over View

Liposuction involves the removal of fat by small tubes, or cannulas, attached to a vacuum aspiration device. Only fat in the subcutaneous layers of the body are accessible for liposuction, but instead must resort to dieting and exercise for this visceral fat loss. Liposuction is not a substitute for proper diet and exercise. Although liposuction, per se, is not a reliable way of losing weight; it is a very reliable means of contouring.

Once the fat cells are removed, your net fat cell number is reduced permanently, thus making it theoretically more difficult for you to regain the fullness in the treated area. Liposuction is essentially a redistribution operation in that the fat in the areas treated is reduced in proportion to the rest of the body. We are frequently asked if the fat "goes somewhere else", or if one tends to put on weight in other areas of the body. One explanation for this perception may be that without a change in caloric intake, in the setting of stable or declining basal metabolic rate (which occurs as we age), it is predictable that fat would accumulate as a means of storing energy. If the depots of fat that were once present have been significantly reduced in capacity, then it follows that those fat depots remaining untreated may tend to accumulate more fat if energy intake exceeds energy expenditure.

It is therefore very important that patients considering liposuction understand the importance of diet and exercise in maintaining their weight, and realize that liposuction is not an alternative to a healthy lifestyle.

Changing Facial Symmetry with Nose Surgery

Rhinoplasty is usually performed under twilight or general anesthesia in an outpatient setting. In most procedures, the skin of the nose is lifted away from the bone and cartilage framework beneath, which is then shaped and sculpted as desired. (Some doctors elect to make the incision from inside the nose, depending on the nature of the surgery.) The skin is then re-draped over the "new" framework, and a splint is applied to help your nose maintain its new form. In some cases, nasal packs or soft splints may be inserted in the nostrils to provide additional stability.

Following surgery, bruising, swelling and discomfort can be expected, but all can be alleviated with cold compresses and medication prescribed by your doctor. (The most visible swelling and bruising are usually gone within two weeks.) Splints, stitches and packing are removed in about a week, and you can usually return to work or non-strenuous activities within a week or two. Strenuous activities may be resumed within four to six weeks.

Of all plastic surgery procedures, nose enhancement, or rhinoplasty, is among the most common. Nose enhancement surgery can be performed on any part of the nose, to increase or reduce its size; to modify the size and shape of the nostrils, tip or bridge of the nose; or to alter the slope or angle of the nose.
