Tummy Tuck Surgery Creates Positive Change in Your Appearance

Abdominoplasty surgery, also referred to as a tummy tuck surgery, is a plastic surgery procedure designed to remove the excess fat tissue, trim and tighten the the abdominal skin and tighten the muscles of the abdomen in the mid to lower abdominal region providing a trim, fit looking mid section.

For women who have had more than one pregnancy, often times experience sagging skin in the abdominal region due to the skin stretching as the belly gets larger during pregnancy. When performing this plastic surgery procedure, the plastic surgeon lifts away the sagging skin, and stretches the skin downward toward the pelvis. The plastic surgeon will remove the excess skin, and the scar will generally rest at the "bikini line." At this time, the surgeon will also remove excess fat tissues and tighten the abdominal muscles using stitches. In many cases, the abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck procedure requires moving the position of the navel upwards to compensate for lost abdominal skin. This procedure is often performed in combination with a liposuction surgery procedure of the thighs, hips love handles to enhance the overall result.

Protruding Ears Are Usually A Family Trait That Surgery Can Fix

Just as it is with all facial features, the size and shape of the ears are a family trait. For example, parents and grandparents with protruding ears, often have children with ears that share these same characteristics. Ear deformities can benefit from correction through surgery, and successful results can be seen in subjects as young as 4 years old. By this age, the ears have almost reached maturity and adult size, so very little change is expected after the age of 4.

During an ear surgery procedure, the plastic surgeon repositions the flexible ear cartilage. The incisions required for this procedure are usually placed behind the ear where any resulting scars will be the least visible. While there are several variations in techniques for ear surgery, the goal of the ear surgery procedure is the same in all cases - to provide a normal, more balanced appearance to the ears.

Used In Breast Reconstruction, Silicone Breast Implants Have A Natural Feel And Look

The silicone breast implants (now approved for general use) that are used today have a somewhat thicker shell than those that were used before 1992. They are also filled with a thicker silicone gel than past implants. The breast implants come pre-filled in various sizes and they are securely sealed so that there is little to no chance of any leakage. When someone mentions silicone with an "e" at the end, they are referring to a group of chemical compounds that vary in thickness from liquid, to gels, to a rubbery consistency. Among other things, they contain silicon (with no "e") which is an element, just like carbon, iron, or nitrogen. Silicon is the second most common on Earth after oxygen. When oxygen and silicon are combined it forms silica which is the most common substance on the planet. Most people know silica in many different forms such as crystals, sand, and quartz. Silicone is used in several everyday items such as soaps, lotion, processed foods, chewing gum, and hairspray.

Sagging Or Extremely Large Breasts Can Be Fixed Through The Cosmetic Surgery Procedure Reduction Mammoplasty

Women with extremely large or sagging breasts can be both emotionally and physically uncomfortable. According to Dr. Placik, a Chicago plastic surgeon, they may suffer from back and neck pain, irritation under the breasts and soreness where brassiere straps cut into their shoulders. Also, these women could be very self-conscious about the size of their breasts. Furthermore, it may be difficult for them to find attractive clothing that fits properly; sometimes it is necessary to buy costly custom-made clothing and supportive garments. For these women, a breast reduction may be necessary.

What To Know About Facial Rejuvenation Procedures

BOTOX® treatments can be an excellent, non-invasive alternative to surgery. Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeons most commonly uses BOTOX® to treat the vertical lines between the eyebrows, frown lines, horizontal lines on the forehead, or crow's feet, the wrinkling along the sides of the eyes. Bands or strings along the neck may also respond to this treatment.

BOTOX®, a purified protein, is injected into small muscles in the face or neck, temporarily blocking the nerve endings. This reduces wrinkles, stress and tension that are reflected in the face. A few local pricks, taking just minutes, can complete the treatment, softening the lines caused by a frown or a squint. The injections can last for up to six months. Repeat treatment can thin or flatten the muscles and keep tension from re-appearing. Improvement is nearly immediate, as you experience a tension-free "afterglow".

Soft Tissue Fillers

Tissue enhancement with a fat transfer is a semi-permanent treatment to restore natural volume for a more youthful appearance. This is a procedure that many celebrities are choosing these days. By injecting your own fat into the soft tissue layers, Cosmetic surgeons are able to artistically erase and smooth facial lines. Fat transfer is also very effective in creating a luscious, fuller lip line and in filling hollows in the upper or lower eyelid. Other injectable fillers can stop wrinkles in their tracks. Dermal fillers are innovative, non-surgical treatments to help rejuvenate and re-shape the face by reducing fine lines and creases. Hyaluronic-acid-based fillers, like Hylaform, Restylane, Captique and Juvéderm, or collagen-replacement fillers, like Sculptra, can help turn back the clock and provide limitless benefits.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a clarifying treatment that can reduce the signs of aging while turning a dull complexion into one that glows. Tiny medical grade aluminum oxide crystals polish and exfoliate the skin, while a vacuum setting removes the dead skin cells. Microdermabrasion leaves your skin silky smooth and refreshed.

Should I have Breast Augmentation Surgery?

For women with particularly small breasts, the augmentation mammoplasty, or Breast Augmentation surgery is a procedure designed to enhance and improve the appearance of the breasts. During the augmentation mammoplasty, the surgeon inserts an implant with a silicone shell filled with saline (salt water) behind the breast or behind the muscle of the chest wall through a small incision. The surgeon will use a small incision at the lower border of the areola which leaves an inconspicuous scar and the most popular placement for breast implants is behind the muscle of the chest wall. This gives a more natural appearance, keeps the implant soft and most importantly makes it easier for the radiologist to read a mammogram.

Often the candidates for this procedure are women who have experienced breast shrinkage following pregnancies. The procedure can restore fullness and reduce sagging. Additionally, it is often the treatment of choice for women who have been naturally endowed with small breasts.

During the initial consultation, the patient and plastic surgeon together decide what size implant will look best. The size of the implant is limited to the degree of stretch the existing breast can tolerate. The goal is to create a natural looking breast that is proportional to the size of the individual.

As is the case with any surgical procedure, there are risks associated with augmentation. Sometimes, the breasts may become somewhat more firm -- a fact attributable to the tightening of a capsule which forms around the implant. Today, the occurrence of firmness is very low. Additionally, a small number of patients note some loss of sensation in the nipple area. Also, one must realize the implants are a man-made device and can leak, requiring replacement.

It is highly important that anyone considering any surgical procedure do his/her research, and consult with an experienced, skilled specialist such as Plastic Surgeon in Chicago Dr G Tresley. Be sure and have all you questions answered and you fully understand your chosen procedure prior to having the surgery. Taking these important steps can mean the difference between a positive surgery experience and a nightmare. Liposuction Has Changed Me for the Better

So after years of fast food and a lack of proper exercise, I decided that it was time for me to actually take care of myself better. I spent hours in the gym every day and made sure I was eating a healthy diet. After a full year I had lost more than 80 pounds and I felt great!

However, I still had some areas of my body I wasn't happy with, love handles and little pouches of fat that just didn't seem to go away with my exercise and diet. After trying everything I could think of, I decided to seek a professional opinion. After some research on the Internet, I discovered a highly skilled and board certified plastic surgeon in Chicago, Illinois. This surgeon helped me to understand that even after weight loss, some ares of the human body will not respond to regular exercise and proper diet. This Doctor also told me that there was a surgery procedure that can get rid of the trouble ares and help to bring back the body I had in high school.

The surgery procedure is called Liposuction, but is also known as a 'suction lipectomy'. It involves the removal of the fat on the pockets or areas that were troubling me like my love handles, and extra fat around my waist. I must say I was a bit skeptical that this surgery procedure could help, after all, more than a years worth of heavy exercise and eating nothing but fruits and vegetables didn't help, why would this surgery?

To cut to the chase, this Liposuction procedure did wonders. After a short period of healing, I was back to my normal daily routine. Now, I am not ashamed at all to remove my shirt at the beach or in the gym. I absolutely love the attention I get from the ladies now. Check out my results for yourself:

It remains that with any elective cosmetic surgery, it is very important for women considering this procedure to be given informed consent. This means that anyone considering having permanent implantation of a medical device is made aware not only of the risks of the operation itself, but also of the lifelong risks of having implants.

Liposuction Sculpts Your Body

Liposuction is a procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. During the past decade, liposuction, which is also known as "lipoplasty" or "suction lipectomy," has benefited from several new refinements. Today, a number of new techniques, including ultrasound-assisted lipoplasty (UAL), the tumescent technique, and the super-wet technique, are helping many plastic surgeons to provide selected patients with more precise results and quicker recovery times. Although no type of liposuction is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight-loss methods.
